My name is Stefano and I was born in Macerata, Italy,  in 1972. I’m the third generation in a family of footwear traders. My grandfather opened a small shop in 1947 in the centre of our little town where I still live and work. When I was a boy I always listened to my parents chatting about shoes and I grew up with the constant smell of leather. I sold my first pair of women’s shoes when I was just 9. I remember it was a saturday afternoon, I was in the shop with my mother and she said to me: “today, my little boy, you are going to be in charge of the clogs department, there is only one model in different colours, they are easy to find and easy to sell, if you want to try to sell them”. I felt really shy and embarassed but at the end of the day I succeded in selling two pairs of clogs: a 38 in green colour and a 37 in wonderful red suede. Since then shoes have always been my life.  After a master’s degree in fashion I decided to grow the family business with my parents. Today we own two shops selling shoes and accessories. We have also created our own private label which carries the same name of the shop: Domizioli. Then, came to me the idea to try to design women’s sandals… this would be the beginning of a new adventure with my collections.

Mi chiamo Stefano e sono nato a Macerata, Italia, nel 1972. Rappresento la terza generazione di una famiglia di commercianti di calzature. Mio nonno aprì un piccolo negozio nel 1947 nel centro della nostra piccola città dove ancora vivo e lavoro. Da bambino ascoltavo sempre i miei genitori parlare di scarpe e sono cresciuto respirando l'odore del cuoio. Ho venduto il mio primo paio di scarpe da donna a 9 anni. Ricordo che era un sabato pomeriggio, ero in negozio con mia madre e lei mi disse: “oggi, mio piccolo ragazzo, ti occuperai del reparto zoccoli, c'è un solo modello in diversi colori, sono facili da trovare e facili da vendere, sempre che tu voglia provare a venderli”. Ero molto timido e in imbarazzo, ma alla fine riuscii a vendere due paia di zoccoli: un 38 di colore verde e un 37 in un meraviglioso camoscio rosso. Da allora le scarpe sono sempre state nella mia vita. Dopo un master nel settore moda ho deciso di dedicarmi all'azienda di famiglia con i miei genitori. Oggi abbiamo due negozi che vendono calzature e accessori e abbiamo anche creato una nostra private label che porta lo stesso nome del negozio: Domizioli. Poi l'idea di provare a disegnare sandali da donna… e l'inizio di una nuova avventura.
